Color Story | Red.

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with the color red. My mom tells me that I wanted red everything: red clothes, red toys, red stockings, red shoes, and even a red room! So obsessed with red was I in my childhood that I think it led to an anti-red phase during my teenage years. But in my 20s I was right back to my red romance when I decided to paint a prominent wall in my apartment red and decorate the rest of my place around the bold hue. Since then, I've further refined my little obsession with red, and now my undying love for the color of passion is expressed with pops and accents and captured photo moments here and there. The most common way I wear red these days is with lipstick (my favorite red lippies are pictured above). But there's also my red heels, red candles, red hair accessories, a fascination with fire-engine red fall leaves, and the occasional red manicure. Oh - and how could I forget? I also purchased a red winter coat this past Fall, which makes more of a bold statement than my other neutral colored coats. Yep, I think my love for red is here to stay.

:: So, this being my first non-hair-related post, what do you think? ::
I plan to do more "Color Story" posts like this, featuring different colors & hues.
The idea being that for each color I will tell a color story -
of how my love for the color came to be, how it has evolved, and how I'm currently
expressing it through hair, makeup, fashion, photography, etc.
