Blog Update: I Am Not (Just) My Hair

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Lately l've had the itch to expand the focus of my blog and share more in this space than just pieces of my hair journey. After all, I'm Naturally Curious about a lot more things in life than just hair. Now don't get me wrong -  I love blogging about this Curious mane of mine. There's just lots more beyond the mane that I'd love to blog about too. My natural hair journey is the catalyst that inspired me to carve out this little corner of the blogosphere, but Ive always had a vision of curating more of a personal style diary. A space where I can find and express my aesthetic. A place where I can share the things that I think make life more beautiful, inspiring, creative, fun, and fulfilling.

In addition to my natural hair curiosities, I'm a girly-girl and a huge technology nerd; I'm a wannabe minimalist but I still like to collect lots of pretty things;  I like to judge books by their covers and their content. I love my corporate 9 to 5, but nothing makes me happier than sleeping on new bedding; taking photos of interesting subjects and urbanscapes; burning candles that make me think I'm on a tropical island or in my kitchen baking; or sipping some tea while deep conditioning my hair. On any given day my interests toggle somewhere between my left and right brain - so why not share them all here?

So this year - in addition to posting about my hair - I plan on posting other kinds of content to include some of my personal photography, beauty & fashion finds, home decor & organization, and other random lifestyle tidbits. But not to worry - If you're truly only here to feed your natural hair curiosities, I have lots more to share in that department as well both here and on youtube :)

By the way, to the readers & subscribers of this blog - THANK YOU so very much for being Naturally Curious enough to follow me on this journey. I'm looking forward to continuing this path of expression...wherever it leads :)

  2. I think you should be free to blog about more than just your hair! You know I do that myself and I would love to read more about your other interests. Someone once gave me advice that when it comes to blogging, I should focus on no more than three topics on the blog just to have structure. I believe that has helped me a lot. Plus, having those topics in my blog logo helps people know what to expect.

    1. Thank you soooo much for the feedback & advice chica! Both you and your blog are an inspiration to me! I definitely agree with the structure piece - I recently updated my blog logo to reflect this new direction - so I'm hoping that as I continue to develop content I will stay close to my core topics...hair definitely being one of them! :)

  4. I saw the title of this blog entry and thought, "Yes!!" I so agree with that statement. Some women are able to be totally and blisfully unaware of their glorious manes! As for me, sometimes I am my hair. Recently I lost a patch of hair in the mid to lower back of my hair, so, I became my hair constantly for about a week. I think this may have been due to an allergic reaction - anyway, whatever the case may be, this week, I have had a good week. I am content with nurturing my hair and the patch of scalp where I lost hair is yielding hope. Sometimes, we cannot help but to be our hair, it is such a part of our personality and it is able to possess a personality (or personalities for those of us that are multi-textured) of its on. I come to your blog when I need peace of mind and to see beautiful things, sometimes several times a day, sometimes several times a week. You do good work. Keep on posting.
