Mini Twist Progress

Wednesday, August 08, 2012

After talking about it for weeks now, I've finally sucked it up and started my mini twist installation this week. I'm actually taking a quick break from twisting right now in order to write this post :) The above pictures are of my twisting progress as of earlier today (excuse the photo quality - these pics were taken with my phone). I normally twist really slow, but for some reason this time around I've been twisting extra slow. For both my sanity and to ensure I don't slack on the quality of my twisting and end up with another mini-twist setback like before - I prefer to break up the twisting process over the course of a few days, twisting a couple of hours each day. Because of this approach, I usually have to be strategic about which sections of my hair I twist first - especially if I'm doing this over the course of a work week. I always tackle the front of my head first so that I can pull the completed twists back into a bun and still look presentable for work (as pictured). After the front is completed, I then usually twist the back (which is what I'm currently working on), leaving the middle section at my crown for last since its the easiest to camouflage. Ok, its back to twisting for me - I will be sure to post pictures of the finished set of twists later on this week. Stay tuned... :)

    1. Heehee, tell me about it! There is a point in every mini twist install where I ask myself "Why the heck did I start this task??"...but it's usually after I've already passed the point of no return, lol. And then I remember that its so worth the torture in the end hahahaha!

  3. Looking good so far...you could try loose twists next time. It takes less time. Plus its easier to loosen than the usual twists.

    1. Thanks! I'm definitely curious about loose twists. I have seen a few people on YT do them and they look great! Knowing my hair though, they would probably unravel easy and much sooner than I would like, lol. But I'm game for trying any style at least once :)
