My Summer Wash and Go Product Combo
As I am slowly figuring out how to work with my hair in these crazy humid summer days and high dew points we've been having where I live, I have since fallen in love with a new combination of products for my wash and go routine (pictured left). This new combination really keeps the frizz in check and my curls and coils defined (unlike the short period of time at the beginning of summer when the weather changed and my hair was freaking out and having a mini identity crisis...lol). For the summer I've been reaching for my beloved multi-purpose Curl Junkie Curl Rehab as my leave-in, Kinky Curly Curling Custard (KCCC) as my styling gel, and I still use my other love - Curls in a Bottle - as my finisher.

I still apply these products in sections, but my application technique has changed slightly. Instead of just raking and smoothing in the product haphazardly, I now apply product by placing each section of hair between the two palms of my hands while they are clasped together like praying hands, and then smoothing-in the product in that section in a downward motion from root to tip. I find that this applying my conditioning and styling product this way really helps to evenly distribute it on every strand of hair in each section. I also find that I get better curl "clumpage" and definition using this praying hands application technique. This especially comes in handy with a product like the KCCC - where I have to be careful not to apply too much product in each section to avoid crunchiness when it dries. This whole summer wash and go process takes me about 15 minutes total.
