I was recently inspired by the 70s and decided to blow out my hair using the tension method. To prep my hair, I washed and conditioned it with the SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Shampoo and Conditioner (blog review on this SheaMoisture line coming soon). Then I deep conditioned with SheaMoisture's Intensive Hydration Hair Masque for 30 minutes under my hooded dryer. I twisted my hair into 4 large twists and allowed it to air dry before blow drying. I wanted the finished look to be as big as possible so after blowing it out, I followed up with brushing it out with a wet brush to make the afro huge!

Well, hello there! It's so hard to believe that I haven't posted on my Naturally Curious blog for 10 months -  goodness, how time flies! I guess you can say I took an unintentional social media hiatus of sorts - though I would occasionally still pop onto my instagram (@naturalicurious) with hair or lifestyle updates every now and then.

So, where have I been? Well, I've really just been focused on life outside of blogging and youtube. Creating quality blog and video content takes a lot of time, energy and dedication - and I really enjoy giving it my all.  But between my busy day job and the running/fitness journey I started in early 2014, it became more and more challenging to dedicate the time and energy necessary to style/maintain my hair regularly while creating quality blog posts and videos to showcase my hairstyling process. Over the first year of my running journey, I did regular runs averaging 2 -3 miles several times a week, ran a handful of 5K races, and completed my very first mud obstacle race! I also did a bit of travel as well as other outdoor adventures like ATVing in the Blue Ridge Mountains! To be honest, my go-to hairstyle during that time was the bun - I wore them low, high and to the side. Though I still did braid outs and twistouts, I found that buns were (and still are) the easiest hairstyle that's conducive to a busy and active life.

What's next for Naturally Curious? This year I'd really like to start showing some love to my blog and youtube channel again. One of my 2015 goals is to find more of a balance between creating online content, while still living my real life to the fullest. I already have a few new blog posts in the works and eventually I want to ease back into recording and editing videos. Check out a few memorable photos I snapped over the last 10 months!

Hope you all are well and thank you so much for sticking with this blog even though I haven't really been posting - Comment below and say hi :)
